Our chapter founder and co-leader is a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and nature lover. Here’s why Sandy volunteers:
We’re so privileged to live on the beautiful Central Coast with all its natural splendor. I’ve loved it since visiting as a child, and I moved here in 1974 with my own family. The years have flown by and being on the Central Coast over the decades has intensified my feelings of connection to and need to protect our environment.
What keeps me hopeful while I’m working on the climate crisis, and what motivates my work every day, is the love I feel for my children, grandchildren and great-grandson. I want to do everything I can to leave a livable planet to them and to all life on our planet.
As Jane Goodall says, “You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”
